Sales Project Analyst

Summary Description of Position
This position is responsible for analyzing, executing pricing strategies, and quoting based on ongoing collaboration with sales teams. The project analyst sales/svc is also responsible for tracking and communicating market intelligence and customer/job prospects. Finally, the role supports some tactical tasks like exception management when they involve complex business situations.
Essential Functions
Responsible for quoting price (material and cartage) on complex jobs based on tactical market intelligence and division pricing strategy
Provides initial price recommendation to the sales services manager, area sales manager, and sales representatives
For DOT lettings, performs initial competitive analysis and provides initial price recommendations to Sales
Develops and maintains weekly / monthly metrics for the Sales Service Center
Monitors customer profitability and activity to provide account allocation recommendations to sales management. Participates in business unit meetings as assigned
Collects, monitors, and distributes market intelligence to sales representatives
Provides additional market data, competitive and qualified leads to sales group
Focuses on future growth, process improvements, gaining market share and building the business
Provides support to sales teams in other markets as necessary
Provides key data, input, and recommendations to management in the areas of pricing and final quotes on major projects
Interprets specifications and project plans to extract meaningful information about bids. Assists in identifying growth opportunities
Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, Skills Required
Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
Experience:
3-5 years' experience in implementing pricing strategies and market analysis in construction materials or related industry
Other equivalent work experience will be considered
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong analytics skills, including familiarity with pricing and market analysis as well as essential mathematical concepts
Excellent oral communication skills with the ability to interface with many different audiences
Strong relationship-building, business, and problem solving and decision-making skills
Applied knowledge of construction techniques and construction materials end-uses
An understanding of assigned markets, including Vulcan and competitor products, applications, specifications, capabilities, pricing strategy, logistics, and methods of shipment
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
Good business sense, negotiating skills, self-confident, sound judgment, resourceful, politically savvy and proactive are required
Time management skills in order to complete time-sensitive activities
Customer focus and responsiveness

Must be able to use computerized equipment and technology.
Use of telephone, computers, cell phones and other electronic devices is essential.
Ability to operate a motorized vehicle and travel locally on an as needed basis.
Occasional travel by air may be necessary.
Ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment that requires complex, technical information and decision making.
Must be able to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
Must have a strong analytical orientation with the ability to apply analytical concepts to complex business problems

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
